This years 957 mile driving holiday with the dog.

Well we headed for Germany last year and encountered torrential rain for 8 of the 9 days we were there, so this year we headed for Scotland. We left last Saturday and had been told the Cairngorms had received 6 inches of snow that week. Got up Saturday morning and it was damp and wet. Left Cheshire and by the time we had reached the lakes the sun was breaking out. Stopped off in Dunblane for a few nights in the excellent Hilton up there (to see my bro) and things were getting nicely sunny and warm. Then off to Aviemore via the brilliant A9 (what a road and scenery) Temperatures now in the 80oC's. Spent the whole week sitting out eating and drinking with a few walks and swims in the lochs and temperatures in Aviemore the hottest in the country for the first few days.
The car was faultless even after getting stuck in Glasgow traffic for over an hour at 26oC+. Over 14 hours of sunshine a day and no rain for the whole 9 day holiday, love Scotland so very, very beautiful and my dog was in heaven.
If someone had said to me a year ago that I would spend 9 days in Germany and 9 days in Scotland, one would be rainy every day and one would be hot and sunny I know where I would be putting my money!

Nice one, lovely dog you have there.
Thanks. Because of the heat he was in the water at every opportunity and was probably soaking wet for 4 hours every day. He was as good as gold on the back parcel shelf but didnt appreciate those 'quicker' moments quite as much as me!
