The aluminium surround and glass on my temp dial has dropped off. Has anyone any idea how it can be fixed. Would like to try and repair it myself but I'm worried I may damage the dash. If I wanted it done by a specialist who would be a good contact? I'm in the Wrexham area. Many thanks

Take the dash top off, remove the gauge (easy) and fix it away from the dash smile

Dismantled dash successfully and no disasters! Fixed dial with glue so hope it lasts.

How do you get the surrounds off the dials to respray them? Mine are quite badly scratched. (And are the original black rims so are very noticeable.)

I was assuming that was probably what you'd say ... it's amazing just how quickly you can go from a "Ahhhhh ... so now she's "finished" for a bit" car to having loads of things needing to be fixed!

Mine started misfiring badly under acceleration on Friday after dropping my dash off to be recovered and even now I've replaced the knacked plug lead still isn't running right, also the gauges rattling around in the dash space without a dash panel to hold them has scraped the surrounds really badly. frown

No, its crimped over the body of the gauge. Easy enough masked and sprayed if you pop the dash and pull the gauge.
