increasing capacity
Discussion
I'm searching for the winter project later this year and I'm thinking of turning my attention to that noisy thing up front.
Easy question for a thicko here:
What is the difference between the 450 and the 400 engine? Is it easy to increase the capacity of my currently standard 400 serp? At the moment I'm looking at stage 3 heads, new de-cat manifolds (which are needed anyway), cam and chip...but is all this worth it with a 400 engine?
Due to the paperwork bulls**t here in Germany, I don't want to replace my engine block really (so the numbers will still match) but if its not gonna bring me what I'm looking for, then I don't know if I should bother starting with this engine at all.
All tips and info greatly received

Been thinking about the same thing... same engine rules in Norway!
I think if you change heads and cam, you should also do intake, trumpets and throttle... you will need the added breathing!
If you add a 4,6 crank and rodsand use 400 pistons you get higher compression... might become a nice engine!
