Hazard lights

Can anyone help with a problem with my hazard lights on a 98 chimaera. They started to turn themselves on at their own will, and actually ran the battery flat when they did so and the car was unattended for a week. I identified and removed the fuse as an interim measure which appears to stop this problem, but now they come on when I open either of the doors with the internal knob and can only be cancelled by using an indicator!

You should have a latching button to switch the hazard lights on. Is it possible this button has physically stuck so it is not being released properly?

I had a problem with an Audi I used to own where, amongst other strange electrical goings on, the central locking would operate when I engaged reverse .... It turned out that there was a bundle of wires which had worn/cracked insulation so that odd things turned on as they became powered by the short circuit (e.g. central locking powered by turning on the reversing lights) because a connection was being made.

May be relevant to your case. As the central locking module/alarm/indicator relays are all closely connected I would check the wiring under passenger side dash......that is if you fancy taking the dash top off and spending an afternoon swearing at it.

Yup, would agree this is the most likely area, including a duff alarm module.

Either take it on yourself or more likely, let a TVR auto-tech take the strain.
