I made a start on my cosworth brake upgrade today. Ive got the 887/888 calipers from a Granada cosworth, 2wd Sierra cosworth discs and the granada cosworth brake pads. I thought these were all the right parts but then I realised those pads are for 278mm disc so they leave a couple of mm of disc on the inside and outside of the pad not being used is this how it should be? I assume the only reason the 283 discs are used over the 278 ones is because the offset on the disc is better and there is nothing to be gained from the bigger disc or have I bought the wrong pads???

I am just using standard Granada pads from motor factors, Ferrodo but only the standard pads nothing special and like i say from my old 240mm set up the difference is night and day.
