Years ago I bought a Tower View roll bar for my Chimaera but unfortunately it got lost/stolen before I had a chance to fit it. I am now rebuilding my car which was crashed by the friend I sold it to and thought I'd add some roll over protection at the same time. Is Tower View still the best option?

The Tower view (Roll Centre) bar would be my preference. Others I have seen are either too low or have a bar running to the side of seat.

I haven't seen the Sportmotive one.... any pics?

Thanks for the link to the other post, I rally drive and some of those cages do look pretty scary. In an accident you would be amazed at how far your head can travel in pretty much every direction. A friend of mine has had considerable difficulty insuring his car with a roll cage and I can see why looking at some of these...

Any more piccies appreciated. Does anyone know if the double hoop cage shown in the link is structural?

There are four bolting points on the chassis and outriigers, two behind the seat ,two on the shelf close to the back

I would be happy to fit this one !

My head would be 3" above that, even with a lowered seat smile.

Thankfully neither my head, or the missus is above it. Note that the headrest is moved up though. It's pretty solid, and I don't fancy smacking my swede on it.

Hi Podie. I am not sure if you had the car without the roll bar fitted at any point but do you find that it transmits noise from the chassis into the cabin. It is something that I had never considered but a few owners with roll bars have mentioned it.

Seems no different to my Chimaera that didn't have one fitted, so can't say I've noticed it.

Is the wotsit on the upright to attach a full harness? I am so laid back driving that my seat back fouls the inertia reel jobbie and I end up with a loose seatbelt.....once I can get it to release enough slack to let me do it up.

Are you saying you drive with your seat in a semi reclined position?

If so, may I suggest that you also wear your trousers too low and that you are on the young side of average smile.

Whatever the answer, reclined = lack of control...........................!

Not sure what happened with quoting, but it was supplied by Tower View, who are no longer in existence.

Yes, there are fixings for harnesses.
