...and I am worried just how easy it was to get into the car. Probably not one for open discussion, but has anyone found a way to make getting in harder?

I'm sort of glad I fitted a transponder immobiliser now.

Its not the getting in you have to worry about. They have only a bit of plastic and fabric for most of the roof for goodness sake.

Its the imobiliser/alarm you need, and you're sorted on that front so stop worrying wink

With the roof off getting in is even easier.

But even with the alarm off, they cannot:

1. Open the boot
2. Start the car

So as long as there's nothing to nick in the cabin, its OK.

As the above has said - it's a fabric roof so getting in is easy - I tend to work on the theory that I don't keep anything in the car itself that I'm not prepared to lose and (generally) leave the car immobilised but unlocked in the hope that if someone wants in they'll go in through the doors than take a knife to the roof...

Doesn't seem to worry insurers either. Best quote I could get if I garage my car over night is £130 more than if I park it on the street at the same address. Work that one out!!

I just make sure there's nothing to nick inside mine. The chances of anyone being able to steal it (or even wanting to) are pretty low, IMO.
