Tomorrow is a big day....
Discussion
Some months ago I sought the opinion of the PH massive as to whether I should ditch the chim for something more modern, and more acceptable to wife no 2. Obviously I took on board everything that was suggested (except the ditch the wife suggestion - its noted but not actioned) and some 8 weeks ago I took the trip to Blackpool to leave the 'little blue shouty one' with D & C trims for a full itnerior and then off to Surface and Design for a full respray.
Tomorrow I shall be leaving Euston at 07.30 to pick the car up. I can't imagine how I am going to sleep tonight. If I can work out how to post pics on this webbie I shall do so. If you see a blue chim on its way down sarf from Blackpool with a very shiny exterior, new roof, refurbished wheels, blue/cream interior and a driver with a mega smile, it could be me (I say could be as driving a Chim is cause for a smile anyway, as you all know!).
Orrabest....

I did the same 2 years ago, albeit not so far to travel, but the feeling is unforgettable when they hand the car over to you and you take in the transformation for yourself, it's a hell of a feeling and they do such a fantastic job there at D&C trim and Surface & Design. Have a great day.

Hi, is your Chim the one with the insanely beautiful underpinnings? And it's a sort of Icy Blue colour? (sorry not great at paint names). If so I was looking at it last Thursday when I took our 'Kate' for a minor adjustment to the dashboard leather and your car, assuming it is, looked pretty darned good to me.
Ah sorry wrong car. Kate is indeed a joy as all our Chims are, enjoy tomorrow and you certainly won't be disappointed. D + C do a great job and nice people to boot. I know you have a long trip back but make sure you shake the foundations of Blackpool prom before you return, as Kate and I did last Thursday

Very nice mate ,like your new John Eales engine ,do you know the spec..
Apologies to OP but to answer your question Daz it's 4.6, 'medium valve' heads (JE doesn't use stage 2, 3 etc), lightened fly, all balanced, new JE block, 45mm trumpets, 70mm plenum, fairly mild cam all giving 275bhp and 310lbs/ft. Very flat torque curve which is what we asked for rather than peak bhp. Drives very nice. And to the OP, hope you're delighted with your baby got home ok. Pics!!! So, it was an amazing day and without shadow of a doubt there is no-one else in the world whom I would have wanted this work to be done by. These guys are fantastic. It will never be a cheap experience, given the amount of work being done but at no point have I felt ripped off or unimportant to them and the quality of the finished priduct is incredible. If you need internal work done or a full, or part, respray then bite the bullet and go to Blackpool, no matter how far away you are. It is our passion, our obsession and it deserves the best. It was a truly pleasurable experience and not, IMHO expensive for the end result.
Here it is.... enjoy!
