Hi guys,

Has anyone fitted an air fuel ratio gauge that will plug in to one of the existing lambda sensors...?

I have fitted a MS1 and edis 8 coil packs and it has been running very rich, i have now dropped the fuel a bit and it runs better but has no punch, the accceleration is very gentle.

I have had a look on ebay and seen there are loads of different air/fuel gauges but am not sure which one to go for. I was thinking of the innovate wide band kit for £150 and do the job properly or go for a gauge and connect it to each of the redundant lambda sensors in turn so i can see what each bank is doing.

As usual any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

On the plus side the engine runs really smooth now with no hunting at idle and no shunting when doing 30mph which for an HC is quite good...!!!

Cheers

Andy

You need to change the whole lot, the existing lambda's are narrow band, you need wideband and controller,

I have the LX1 wideband display ,just sticks anywhere ,you dont have to start taking the dash off .

The controller and wideband lambda is Techedge 2J2 wideband system

Forgot to say Andy the unit Daz uses as a good rep wink things become much clearer with a WB nerd if your just trying to get the fuelling right by feel you may as well be pissing in the wind eek Just convince the missus the WB gauge will help out with the washing up after Sunday lunch hehe

i am really slow today...i just clicked that i can put the sensor in one of the existing lambda positions...go for a spin and check one bank and then put in the other and check that bank....!

I like the idea of telling the mrs it will help with the washing up...that might be better than the "I know £10 for all this stuff - a complete bargain..."

I know what your saying about guess the fueling. I think i will order either AEM or Innovate today and then get a real feel for whats going on...

Andy in all honesty you should not need to monitor both banks for what you are trying to achieve, you also need to weld in a Lambda bung (stock OE ones are too small) wink you have more mail cool

I thought that, but the thread are different and you might get issue's with air speed in that position

I've been looking into this too.

I don't want to change the look of the dash and as I have a spare Ipod Touch with WiFi I've been looking at this:

http://www.aemelectronics.com/wideband-air-fuel-sy...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpR0VUemOV0

http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=ends...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AEM-X-WIFI-WIDEBAND-UEGO...

It seems to get good reviews, the only negative being it doesn't work with Android phones which is no big deal for me as I'll be using the IPod Touch.

ok - well i think i might go for the Innovate kit as that looks like a nice simple install.

Last question where is the best place to mount the sensor?

Got your other mail simon - let me know when your free and i will give you a call. Can you drop me a mail with your mobile number on as some theiving toe rag pinched my mobile...!

Nice job ,i like my little setup .Im running on two wide band lambdas ,two inputs in the the ECU ,works off one and trims the other ..I can swop from one lambda to the other in a few seconds..

Sounds a bit over the top but all new modern cars run on two ..well if its a v8
