Just filled up the 500.

I of course trust nothing the fuel gauge says so measured brim to brim.

7.7 Gallons. 180 miles.

23mpg. No worse than the M6!

I don't want to hear any "you arent trying hard enough" bks either!!

just had a 300mile run and thought the fuel gauge was broken. Stopped at 170 to fill up and could only get in 23 ltrs. Only ever got 220 out of a full tank before. Just goes to show what a constant speed can do.

Not super efficient, steady driving (no faster than 80mph) can get you up to around 30 mpg.

A recent run to Oxfordshire and back resulted in 28.6 mpg in the Griff. smile

We went VERY easy overnight to Portsmouth on out way to Le Mans... around the 65 mark and got 32 MPG on the fillup before getting on the ship.
Needless to say, the rest of the trip was nothing close to that laugh

got 32mpg out the 430 on the way back from Swansea before, taking it at a steady 70-80 due to rain.

Same-ish here when I took my car back home from Central/Powers bodyshop (got her new outriggers and roof soft part for Christmas wink ) under similar conditions.

I don't drive that much faster normally but with the odd bit of playfulness, enough to drop mpg to early twenties in regular use...

If I drove my diesel Saab the way I drive my TVR, I would get about 28mpg. Driving it steadily on mixed roads i get 40. My wife driving it on motorways (she's five stone lighter than me) gets 45-46 mpg using the cruise control. As others have said, driving style and steady speed (and no excess baggage, grumbling or otherwise) improves your fuel consumption..... ideaso go and fit a cruise control to your 500 for those extra mpg hehe
