Hello!

My Chim has been off the road for several months now, tonight a friend (a full-on mechanic) was having a look at my non start issue, basically at the tail-end of last year all my dials (except the rev counter) died and the battery wasn't getting any charge even though the alternator output was ok, when I moved the heater blower switch all kinds of warning lights came on.

Fast forward to now and I can't even get the damned thing to start, we've finally managed to get to the stage where we have traced the non-start issue to a particular circuit, the second from the left fuse (ECU) keeps blowing as soon as ignition is turned on, we need know what a particular wire is all about as I can't see the fuel pump relay at all in Steve Heath's Bible, it's a thick brown wire with an orange tracer, can anybody shed any light on it please?

Thanks

EGB

All your earths need checking, chassis in particular. Fuel pump relay is the square one with diagonal stripe on a blue socket, on mine. Fuel pump + ignition sparks = engine start.

That wires a 12 volt feed to the main relay.

Download the 14CUX manual here:
