Finally got around to fitting the bottom piece (afm to behind the front grill) of the smoothbore system today.

Apart from it taking about 2 hours longer to get the new pipe in than it took to take the old one out, I have ended up with the air filter in a completely different location, almost in front of the bottom corner of the rad, compared with it being sat on the inside of the front panel.

It is all supported and sturdy, but I wondered if it should be low or is ok as is?

Thanks in advance

i would think it should be fine, if its more in the middle it should get more cold air to it which can only be a good thing imo. have you noticed a big difference with it fitted compared to standard? phil

Where did you buy your smoothbore jobbie from and what was the cost.

I bought it from Tim at ACT last year at the TVR club event at Goodwood. I fitted the elbow straight away but the other pipe looked a bit tricky and proved that when I tried to fit!

The change from bottom pipe feels more noticeable than the top but looking at the old pipe, I would say that it was a bit crimped on the corner by the headlights, than it should be.
