My Chimera shows what can certainly be described as camshaft wear.
A metalic noise, related to engine speed, can be heard from the offside head. You know, the kind of noise heard when hyour tappets are on their way out.
The car has had six different owners since 2000 and I suspect a lack of attention and care could be the source of my current issues.
I would therefore like to check-out the camshaft condition and change it. I have read on that forum that it would be best to also change the valve train at the sale time, including tappets, pushrods and maybe cam-followers as well.

Due to the search facility being under maintenance, I just can't find the necessary technical information in the forum archives.

Would one of the Chimera gurus be kind enough as to point me towards the required post or, even better, post a complete DIY guide on camshaft change? beer

Needless to say, your action would result in keeping part of the UK car industry heritage in perfect health for the future generations. hehe

Thanks for your inputs.
