1997 Chimaera which I presume has the standard Meta M99T alarm control unit with battery backed up siren and the M36T immoboliser and GEC Plessey microwave.
(one button key fob and immoboliser stick for steering column)

Problem: Both fobs dont work (new batteries tried), immoboliser stick does.ie. cant look the car but can immobolise it.

Been advised to disconnect battery for a minute or so then connect and try fobs to turn off alarm. If this does not sort it out new alarm needed (£450+vat)

Questions: If fobs dont spring into action and I need to disconnect siren how long will it go off presuming back up battery is totally charged and,

Will any of these actions affect the immoboliser, ie. will I still be able to drive the car?

Any advice/experience grately appreciated.
