Took my Gaz shocks to local garage for fitting and he tells me that his spring compressor is too big for the chimp shocks (like motorbike shocks was his description).
Anybody know where I can get a spring compressor that would fit the small springs?

I can't imagine they are dear to buy but have no idea what is appropriate

YOu shouldnt need spring compressors with Gaz shocks as tghey have adjustable platforms. Just unscrew the lock rings as far down as possible and you should then be able to fit the springs. You need a couple of C spanners to set the height when the shocks are on the car. Wher in North Wales are you. Im in Chester nad have some spanners if you need a loan of them.

Thanks for the offer but need to get springs off originals and fit to the gaz shocks. I don't do this stuff as don't feel comfortable so pay local garage if I can.

Been quoted an hour labour per corner at £54/hr from a TVR specialist which seems a bit steep.

I'm in Holywell

I have Gaz and You do need to compress the springs.

A set of compressors from Machine Mart or 2 joiners cramps on their sides.

Good tool. I'd like to make one of those. Any idea how to contact the poster big500 for some dimensions?
His PH profile doesn't allow emails

Thanks for that link, thumbup I've now myself one of those and used it to put some new Bilsteins on,

For anyone that wants to make one, One steel plate has a 50mm hole and the other a 70mm hole.
The holes for the 10mm studded bar I used were centered around a 90mm circle
