Requested info on the Turbo at TVR Power following Sprint article:
Our test car is a 4.00 Chim 1996 with 51,000 miles and a standard 4.00 serp engine.
We have run as high as 20lbs of boost in testing and on the dyno, fully mapped with the standard engine pushing the engine harder than we will run it as a standard installation.
Running with 20lbs of boost 337.2 rear wheel BHP and 427.3 Lbs/ft or torque.
The standard turbo Installation on a standard 4.00 will run 1 bar of boost max or 14.5lbs, 305.8 rear wheel BHP and 368.3 Lbs/ft of torque.
As a example of performance a standard 4.00 Chim in standard trim on the same dyno is 191.47 rear wheel BHP and 212.7 lbs/ft of torque
The engine management system is replaced by MBE a fully adjustable system with more built in safety systems, control and right up to date on technology.
Fully mappable crank trigger ignition with multi coil.
Fully mappable fuel management with a 1.5 Bar map sensor.
Larger injectors are used.
Turbo is a T4/T3 with integral waistgate.
Intercooler is a full size unit fitted in front on the standard water radiator with no increase in the water temperature in normal running.
Each kit is made to suit each car as the model does change under the bonnet so we do have to do the fitting/installation and dyno the car.
Warranty, the kit comes with a 12 months warranty for the ECU, Turbo, cooler and workmanship.
The turbo system complete with all components and all electronics fitted, mapped and dyno'd to suit your car is £ +vat
The test car has been running for sometime now and the Turbo kit is available.

I'd love to find out... been in a Super-charged 500 and that was fast once it got going....
Will a single turbo spool up quick enough?... and its quite a way from the heads.. does this matter?.. .and what about the heat build up?.. the one on my Porca glowed orange after a good thrash!..
Can't wait to see it

I just can't get round the gut feeling (and anyone that knows me will know that with a gut the size of mine that could be one hell of a feeling) that turbos on a Rover V8 are just a bit - well - not "wrong" exactly but "just not quite right"...Will a single turbo spool up quick enough?... and its quite a way from the heads.. does this matter?.. .and what about the heat build up?.. the one on my Porca glowed orange after a good thrash!..

Turbos go on boy racer toys, rice burners and (whisper) diesels ... not on Rover V8s - V8s to me should be normally aspirated or supercharged.

t your pants scary as well, imagine getting a whack of turbo lag... traction is bad enough as standard it must be a handful when turbo'd or superchargedBassfiend said:

Nothing better than spinning those turbos up as a Ferrari owner found recently
