Looks like I'm getting the Chim!!!!
Discussion
My friend has decided to part with her chim, and it looks likely that I shall become custodian of this fine machine!!!
Found a great quote so insurance isn't a problem (£477 Classic policy from Footman James). I do have one question tho...
On continous driving, without having to stop for red lights, junctions and police cars, approximately what sort of mileage could I expect to see? I have used the car occasionally, but it hasn't really given me a feel for how far I'd get on say £40. Any ideas? 150 to 200 miles sounds about right?
VROOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!! VROOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!
(Cant wait to get my hands on it!!!!!)

Continuous driving should see 27-30mpg (assuming 70-90mph) in a 4.0L and 22-24mph in a 5.0L Chimaera.
I had 29/30mpg quite often on long runs through France with only fuel stops. Made 300 miles to the tank quite often. Once in 5th gear they're a great cruiser IMO.
Of course it was more like 22-24mpg in normal traffic stop/start driving.

well i did 244 miles to an almost full tank(i don't fill it up to the brim as i've heard of it causing problems, first click and thats it) over the weekend. a combination of runs 70-90 and stop start queues and a roads 45-60 and some fast overtakes
now you'll ask how much the tank holds... err..
oh 4.5 btw

Stu, I'll try and get some pics up soon. It'll be a month or so before its actually mine but the agreement is in place and I'm looking after it for the moment anyway.
Cosmos, I'm looking forward to the Euphoria a lot, especially with a bit of John 00 thumping out. Last time I put that on in it my fingers started going blue because I just didn't want to stop driving the thing

That particular aural delight will no doubt get me into a lot of trouble I'm sure
but it's gonna be worth it
