One of the hinges of my boot lid has developped a rather big gap between itself and the GRP body.

Although I know the reason for that (fitted a Golf strut which is much stronger than the correct TVR one and has been pushing the lid backwards all the time it was closed), I can't manage to realign the hinge: when I undo the screw below I can push everything forward into position, but when I re-tighten it the gap comes back mad

Is there a way to adjust this gap? Or did I permanently bend something?

And what is the black rubbery thing on which the hinge sits? Can it be replaced?

Thanks in advance,

Jean-François

I have the same problem and I think we have to unbolt the boot, remove the hinge and glue it back in place correctly...

Do you mean the black stuff under the hinge is actually glue? What is the screw for then?
