Rear brake upgrade.

I've had the fronts changed to Griff brakes with drilled / grooved discs and I am now wondering if the Griff rears are worth fitting.
Are they larger discs?
Or, should I just change to a drilled / grooved disc if so, are these a Ford pattern?
Mine is a 1993 model.

Speak to Peninsula, they upgraded the brakes on mine, 285mm front discs, and drilled and grooved rears with Green Stuff pads, braided hoses all round. I think they just machine your existing discs (provided they are not completely knackered).

Massive improvement in braking, but make sure you get the bias right otherwise you'll be swapping ends regularly.

I think Griff rears are the same size as Chim anyway, but am prepared to be corrected on that.

Correct, all components under the Griff and the Chim are identical. The only difference is that the Griff has Koni shacks and the Chim has Bilstein.

Not after 1996... even the plain vanilla Chimpari had the 500 brakes as they were standardised right across the range. However prior to that, you are quite correct.
