door solenoid ???

Apologies for poor technical talk.

Drivers door not opening from button under mirror

On investigation when I press the button the top bit of the mechanism does move down but does not seen to activate the other side to pull up the catch, on the other side.

Does this sound like a solenoid or something else ?

Has it been getting slowly worse? Two pushes sometimes, two pushes every time......Mine did, and the solenoid had to be replaced.

yes managed to find some older threads thanks to google, looks like a trip to Maplins for me

Hey mate,

I had the same problem this morning pushed the button on my mirror but it wouldn't open the door the only way I could open it was to go in the passenger side and turn the knob.

The way I got mine working again was to use the remote shut all the doors and locked it up again, leave it for a min or so the alarm is set unlocked all the door and it is now working fine.

Not sure if this is a common problem?

I'm pretty sure the solenoid is on way out pretty easy and cheap fix really
