.....As the title states, I require a battery box. Searched the web and so far been unable to locate anyone that supplies them.

The old girl has been in for some work at a local indy and part of the work order was for them to supply and fit a battery box along with a cut off switch. After 4 weeks of waiting I picked her up today only to discover everything has been done apart from the battery box!!!! I haven't been charged so rather than wait another four weeks I hoped to do it myself.

Could you guys/girls point me in the right direction please?

My Chimaera has never had one in the 8 years I have owned her so I do not have a clue what they look like.

I have been told the new MOT's will require a secure battery. Thanks for to offers Gents. I might get one made with a hinged front but if I get nowhere I may take you up.

no worries mate let me know if you want one.
it bolts to the footwell/bulkhead which are fasted via the inner wheel arch. then there is a cover which screws into that backing peice.
How is your battery and ECU secured?
With the bulkhead being fiberglass it's easy just to bolt some sort of clamp over the battery to hold it securly in place

Gotta say that given the location of the battery and how bloody fiddly it is to get the bolts back into the bottom of the battery box I'd not bother and just use a couple of bent bits of angle steel to clamp the battery down to the floor...

Not on that year, that one is just secured to the floor by 2 x 8 mm bolts. wink

The battery was just loose in my Chim when I got her. I bought a battery tray from ebay, luckily the existing bolt holes even lined up and it had 2 clamps to hold the battery in place. similar to this:
