hi guys,

i order an original valley gasket - very shiney tin one - dont think its composit. and was wondering do or should you apply some kind of sealant between the mating surfaces before fitting? cant see how it will seal well at the moment?

cheers

At the very least, a smear of Hylomar.

I believe I used an expensive gasket sealant that I nabbed from a friends workshop, (thinly applied but most important around the waterways!).

cheers,

most threads ive read tonight always mention putting it on the joints for the waterways, but not that much is mentioned about the inlet joins. cant see that it would seal too well without it?

yes better suited to this kind of job than a silicone based sealer.
