Pulled up outside the house, fans were going, switched off the ignition, fans still going. Normally the fans stop as soon as the ignition is turned off. Left it for five mins but fans still going. Lifted bonnet only drivers side fan working. Stopped it by pulling connector apart (complete with nasty shock). Connected the wire that was connected to the working fan onto the non working fan connector and the fan worked. So, both fans work but only one supply working (one that was working the drivers side fan). Could be dodgy connector will check this when it's a bit cooler under the bonnet. But why was it still working when the ignition was switched off? Could it be the temp sensor?

Any ideas or suggestions guys? Cheers, Chilli

Both fans have separate relays from memory and it sounds like one of the sas failed closed/overheated/melted frown

Thanks for the reply Simon, just cleaned up the dodgy connector and now both fans are working and behaving as they should, both stop when the ignition is switched off and both come on again if restarted immediately. Just strange that with only one working it doesn't stop when the ignition is switched off scratchchin

When you were following me on Saturday I noticed your fans running at the traffic lights, after 20 miles at 40-60 mph on a not too warm morning. Mine weren't running at all.......any idea why yours were?
