How easy is it to replce the brake servo, I am assuming not very easy.
I think that it has stoped working, tried the pump pedal several times, hold down and start engine. Pedal does not move. Remove vacumn hose and get a woshing sound as air goes in.
I have done a body off referb of the chasis so its not been used for 4 years. As part of putting everything back together I had to remove the brake master cylinder to replace the seals, could I have disturbed something in the servo that has stopped it working?

I'm sure there was an article in a sprint magazine from this year with a guide to changing brake servo. I got a boot full of sprint magazines with the car. Although not sure now I've said it what model it was on a out ? Chim , grief or s series. If I can find it I'll let U know. Can scan and email .I will PM later if it is applicable.

Yes I saw that, it was on an S I think. Which looked like it might be easier than that on a Chim.

Much easier wink

But more prone to rust/failure because of location.

To change the servo the pedal box has to come out as there is not enough room to get it past.

You dont have to take the stering column out. If you unscrew the clutch pedal and take the clevis pin out so the pedal swings free there is enough room the manouvre the pedal box over and out past the column. Well there is on a Griff so asuming the same. Its just a matter of undoing the brake servo/master and clutch master from the pedal box. If they are not being replaced they can stay put in the wing but whilst at it i would replace the brake master, save going in again. You may also have to undo some pipes to be able to manouvre things. Just get plenty of rags ready as it can get messy.

l have managed to test the servo and it is working, Yipee, so no messing about trying to get it out.
Tested the servo by buying a hand fluid pump, connected the punp in, to the servo, applied the brake pedal and pumped the pump causing a vacumn in the servo, and the pedal went down, indicating that it was working, so now to find why it does not work with the engine running.

sounds like you vacuum hose from the plenum is iether blocked, collapsing under vacuum, or has split, any could cause your problem
