I'm the Guinea Pig for this one. The project started pretty modestly to basically add T-car front suspension and make a few changes to better accommodate the LS engine. However, things have escalated somewhat from that apparently simple starting point!
Why not just cut down a cerb chassis ,job done ,then add the same suspension setup !(in reply to Haribo)
On the face of it, no, but.... We have a pretty much finalised chassis backbone and steering rack awaiting front and rear suspension. The suspension is all new with machined ally uprights. Originally the intention was to use T-car front uprights, but then came the idea to machine entirely new ones since future supply of new T-car ones cannot be certain. That lead to making custom rear uprights too!
The benefits will be increased chassis stiffness and better suspension geometry, in particular getting away from the Sierra front upright and the bespoke TVR rack. Also the LS engine will fit much better with plenty of room for exhaust manifolds down the side of the block rather than forwards into a crowded and over-heated engine bay.
Currently some work is going into the detail of fitting the T56 Magnum gearbox.
It's hard to give you a date for completion, as so much depends on logistics and resources available to do the design/development while the people involved also do the daily bread & butter to earn a living.
My car is Griffith by the way. Sorry about that!

Hmmm, it's not as simple as that. We are building new chassis from scratch, not patching up salvage yard parts! The problem is who is going to pay big money for old cars ? unless you work off shore

Take my hat off to you ,you are perfecting the crap handling ans steering setup .
TVR should of spent more time and money on chassis ,build quality etc and ditched the engines ..

Could be worth the wait then ! not worth having the power if you cant put it down ?
be good if you could keep us posted ?
Shame about the Griff ! lol

... the cerbera Chassis and suspension setup is spot on ..
..
The main thing with the Cerb is it being 10" (if I remember correctly) more wheelbase and having a cage...
If we ignore the chassis the main difference to the Griff/Chim is at the front with the different double wishbone setup with the alloy upright and thicker anti roll bar.
The ratio between the top and bottom wishbones compared to a Griff/Chim is increased (chassis mount to upright) - which gives greater "camber recovery", so as the car rolls, the more severe angle of the upper wishbone pulls back the top of the wheel a bit.
Apart from the different ARB mounting (and it being thicker) the Cerb has the standard rear wishbone setup. It was refined with different mounting points and a more upright rear shock position for the Sagaris....
Ally uprights sound great, those Sierra jobs are heavy. I did once get a price for having some made up but it was too expensive, so I'd be interested to see what you will be pricing them at!
Great to see a new chassis being developed as well, I almost wish mine wasn't so well protected so I could justify a nice shiny new one! Surprised that there are no seat mountings though, that would be a worthwhile improvement.
