gutted...now got a "squeaking" noise! please help
Discussion
Hi,
what a weekend.... posted a couple of topics over the weekend relating to the speeder thingy and a breakdown. they say problems come in threes... so here is the third...
i have a squeak that has large intervals at low speed and shorter at higher speeds.
it's quite high pitched as though something needs oiling.
any thoughts would be greatly appreciated just to steer me in the right direction.
Many thanks,
N
I'll wager one of the brake pads isn't seating as well as it might somewere.. Either:
a) Ignore it and it will go away as the pads wear and brake dust levels change
or
b) have the pads out and put them back with copperslip behind them.
Cheers

I could have sworn it was the pads as the squeak had a definite rubbery grind to it, but no...after pads were replaced further inspection determined it was the RR wheel hub.
I recently posted a thread about this here:

Apparently it happens if the hub nuts work themselves loose.
