Having changed over the coolant sensor I now find that the temperature climbs to over 100degC...always stayed at no more than 90. I have bled the system and short the fans so always on but engine continues to climb to over 100degC.... it would just carry on if not switched off.

What should I try next?

Thanks

Are you sure you have the right sender fitted for the instruments i.e ETB or Caerbont gauges etc? if you have a poor earth the gauge will also over register scratchchin ask me how I know frown

Really, just got the sender that is spec'd....Do you mean the dial is wrong rather than the temperature?

I have replaced the new with the old sender as it wasn't knackered just thought good to do whilst messing about but still showing the same temperature. Might get one of those cheap infrared thermos though to see actual temp.

Also did use PFTE tape to ensure good fit.

Can I check the pump in any way without removing?

When you say "with the resistor mod" do you mean it comes with the resistor mod? or do you add a resistor mod?

This came up a few weeks ago, and you need to get a particular resistor from somewhere like Maplins. If I can find the post I will let you know, though I do know who posted it, so will email him for the details
