Yes, after almost 3 years I have managed to close the boot, with the keys in it… fk, fk, fk….

The car is packed, ready to go, my girlfriend and I were about to go to Wales, went I looked for the keys in the ignition and they are not.

The worst thing is that my spare set of keys is with my friend Dave: I gave them to him as we went to Le Mans Classic, in case I lots my keys while there (he took my spare set).

  • ******************** i got my friend Dave on the phone, but useless me have not managed to get in the "secret way" and so far I have not managed to find how in the "bible", so if someone can guide me to the right page, it would be a lot of help (I know how to get in the car if the battery is dead, this is super easy, but I do no know how to get in the boot when the keys are in it…).
Result, Dave is driving over (35 minutes away), to drop the spare set of keys with me! What a result! Dave's a top bloke! Dave's a great friend!

I guess I have done it one now, so I should not do it again for the next 3 years!

A useful mod but I fail to see how it would have helped Frenchie when his keys & remote fob were locked in his boot.

The boot opener still needs the doors to unlocked first, until then the boot opener circuit is remains inoperative.

Is this too much info? I know when I had a cerb you were shot for putting any of this on the forum. Although, not checked the Chim/Griff wiring yet but if it was anything like the cerbs standard alarm/immobiliser a screwdriver, a 9volt battery and some wire cutters and your P&J would be driving down the road in under 5 minutes without the alarm sounding. My theory was that fully decat with straight through exhausts pushing over 130db was the alarm system.

I know that, I was agreeing with Tim that it was too much info.

Hi Guys,

Sorry for having put “too much info” (but still, I believe that most people reading ours posts on the forum are people that own Chimaeras or TVRs and usually “friendly people” and that people wanting to steal our belonging probably do not spend hours skimming through “pistonhead forum” to find some info… What is the name of the “Radio Head” song again? “Paranoid Android”...

Thanks for the guys that have e-mailed me the info that I required and super thanks to David for having driven to mine with my spare set of keys!

By the way, what’s the secret way in if I have no keys at all …? Oh, I am SO naughty …!

Oh that's easy all you do is....and then pull...but remember to cut...and then behind...cut...add a wire from...to...and off you go. No keys required and no immobiliser issues or horrible alarm sirens making any noise while you drive off. Simple.

Maybe this is why I am paranoid having spent a few days with multi meters and looking at wiring diagrams then running a few "tests". I think we should be paranoid. That or get a new alarm system.
