I am a little lost with this strange incident.

I have been out driving in the Chimp over the last few days and have noticed a very strange occurrance with the temp guage.

During daylight its fine, heats up to about 75-80C but then at night (bear in mind the ambient temp is lower) with the lights on it goes ballistic and heads rapidly towards 110C.

Water level is fine and the fans work Ok but I just dont really understand why it only happens with the lights on, could it be a loose connection somewhere?

What does it do if you switch the lights on during the daytime? My guess would be that the extra load from the lights is making the gauge misread.

Do you know what, I haven't actually tried that...should have been my first port of call.

Thanks for the replies though, will check the earth points and go from there.
