The power steering is making a bit of a noise. I checked the level last night and I can see a small bit in the reservoir so I need to top it up. Any idea what fluid to use? The manual suggests Mobil ATF-220 but I can't find any locally. I want to use the car tomorrow so something I can get from the local halfrauds would be useful.

I checked around the hoses and couldn't see a leak, any idea where it could be coming from?

Normally the system leaks at the "U" bend under the pump, you can solve it with this kit:

Or take a trip to your local Pirtek/hydraulic fitter to have something similar made up.

Just make sure you check your rack gaiters first to ensure they are not holding fluid, this would indicate a leaking rack.

yes, it’s very straightforward, it's good practice to change power steering pipes every few years as they do degrade internally over time.

This degradation can lead to small particles of hose material being carried throughout the system, it's this debris that kills the seals power steering racks.

When doing anything with power steering keep in mind that "cleanliness is next to godliness".

An excellent additional insurance against debris is to fit a filter when you replace your hoses.
