Help anyone,

I've a 1997 5.0 Chim and i left it out at work yesterday when the heavens opened.

Car is nice and dry inside but the door plunger is not working, which means can't lock the car and no alarm working.

I've checked the plunger and it works on the other side fine.

Any ideas. Is it time for the heater again???

Which 'door plunger'? The interior light one or the door opener. How is it 'not working'? Siezed up/wires corroded/loose/etc...?

What's it got to do with the heater?

By heater i mean the external heater to dry her out again as she leaks a bit.

It's the plunger at the bottom of the door valence and has a rubber bit on the door to push it in. I think it's for the light, but when i push it in normally the door lock mech makes a noise, but now nothing. And as such i think it thinks the door is open, and so won't lock or arm.

The plunger is ok as i tried it on the drivers side and it works, so i'm a bit stumped. Also the wires look fine, and i think the problem is no power to the door plunger.

Any ideas???

The "plunger" is a switch for the two wires. Ensure it is clean (the bit inside the bodywork), you can usually see how the "plunger" makes/breaks connectivity between the two wires after removing/pulling it carefully away from its housing/hole.

See the Bible ??

Take the switch out and just short the two wires, if it works the switch is the problem.

More developments.

Checked both plungers and they are ok.

If the passenger door is clocked, the driver door plunger works (i.e. the door lock make a noise when depressed.

If both doors are open neither plunger make the door lock make a noise when depressed.

Electrical Wizard required.

HELP!!!!
