Hi All,

Whilst on the website i thought i'd share a bit of a cost saving idea i had recently.

If you want to convert your badges on the Trevor to gold / black, it will cost you about 40 quid ish to do so at TVR.

Here's what i did.

1 Take your badges off and give them a good clean . scrub with fine wire wool (not too hard to scratch)

2 spray a fine gold primer over your badge and let it dry. Do that a couple of times

3 spray your badge with your chosen colour (in my case gold). again do this a few times, but make it light coates.

4 put a piece of paper on a flat surface (in my case the kitchen as the missus wasn't in) and spray some black paint onto the paper.

5 Take the dry badge and dip it onto the paper (you may have to do this a couple of times). The outer part of the badge picks up the black paint, and hey presto, new badges.

TVR cost £40 quid

My cost £6.85 and a saturday afternoon (plus a miffed missus when she found out - although she did appreciate the nice badges after about 6 months)

Hope it's useful

all the best

Paul

I'd like to convert my Chimaera badge backing from black to blue, can I sand down the black and refinish it??

I wouldn't! I'd use paint stripper, take em off the car first though. OH

How are they attached? Do they use the normal black sticky pads? I've never looked

Well on mine which was built on a Thursday BTW

Two studs on each go though the bodywork, and are secured with nylocs and washers.

Yep, did my front one, cleaned out the old paint splodged in the new, cleaned off surplus.
Paint still kept falling out, so I brought a Leven jobby 6 months ago, £50 very well spent still looks like new.

Al, it's the rear Chimaera 500 badge I mean. I want a blue backgound behind the lettering.
