No cats and an mot?
Discussion
I have a1995 Chimaera that has no cat or pre-cats and also has no lambda sensors on the exhaust. When I went for an mot recently it failed on co2 emissions. If anyone else is running a de-cat car or a no-cat car, how do you get an with mot time?
The only other failure was a sticky front brake. Discs and pads look in good order so guess it may be the caliper. Not sure if that can be repaired or if it means a new caliper though. May yet use it as an excuse to upgrade the front brakes to a 4 pot setup! what options are there for this?

You wont legally get a 1995 to pass the emissions without a catalyst and Lambda probes- (leaving friendly garages out of the equation for now anyway) I cant imagine why Lambda probes are not fitted- you can still have them and simply switch fuel maps to ignore them if you want to run without catalysts. Taking them out is plain daft. The only other failure was a sticky front brake. Discs and pads look in good order so guess it may be the caliper. Had some epic fun in the MOT centre on Sat last myself, although nothing to do with cats.
Car was MOT'd 2 months ago and failed on a headlight too low. Being busy with work and away on hols forgot to book re-test and had to go for a full test again.
Got her warmed up nicely and pulled in to center, guy checks all lights and rear fog not working (it was working 2 days ago). Ok, so he says switch her off and take a seat. Then he calls me back and says he cant start car.
I got in and turn thekey and could hear fuel pump but it wouldnt crank (first time it has ever done this, hot start problem?). Then 2 testers had to push me to get it started.
It was driven onto the ramp to check suspension etc and it started no problem after 10 mins or so. Then he says "that car has no number plate light". I explained that it is back lit so he was happy with that.
I think he took pity on me and handed me the cert and sayd "dont forget about the fog light". I asked him had he much experience with TVR's and hereplied "No, thank God".
