Anything under 2000 revs and the car starts juddering (in any gear), think it's most likely a tunning exercise, if anyone knows different can you let me know!

Also, I noticed fomr previous postings that the oil gauge dropping to 30psi-ish when idling it not a problem (as long as the oil is topped up), picks up to 80psi when driving though - should I be worried?

And if that wasn't enough, my pride and joy seems to feel every crack in the road today.... including some vibration which feels it's from the rear... at times it's so bad it jogs the CD player - Suspension looks fine, as does the tyres and tracking - any ideas?

Just ordered my Steve Heath bible - hoorah!!!

One last thing, the bulb has gone on the fuel gauge, is this easy to fix?

Yippee the weekend is here... top off and the car too!

Oil Pressure - usually cured by replacing oil pressure sender (cost £50+) but don't assume this is your problem and get it checked. Much cheaper in the long run.

Tickover problems - try cleaning the stepper motor
You can also try replacing oil temp sender (£9) to improve fueling and replacing coil for BOSCH unit (£50+) These all worked for me.

Bumpy Ride - check tyre pressures carefully and do not trust gauges on some garage forecourts. They can often read up to 10% out leading to over/under inflated tyres.

make sure the spark plugs are in properly and the shrouds over them are not loose.

I had same problem with rough idle & sometimes stalling & this was cured by removing the coolant temperature sender (pg87 of the bible) & cleaning it with petrol & returning it. You can get a replacement for about £10 but make sure you get the Lucas one (part no.SNB802) do not accept the intermotor equivalent as I did & after a week car was worse than ever so I cleaned up the old one put it back in & he has ran perfectly ever since.

Thanks
Howard.
