Any one know how much coolant these cars hold?
The reason for asking is I want to buy some Evans fluid and prep, as it is f'ing expensive I don't want to get more than i need
Cheers
Oh and other than clever Trevor where can I get a big bore 74mm thermostat from?

You can buy them from any Motor Factor if you know the part number (Probably Halfrauds as well)

Has anyone managed to get 12 litres into the system? The most I managed to get in after I flushed the system last year was 8 or 9 pints before bleeding and topping up which makes me think that the capacity is 12 pints and wasn't converted to litres just changed. I can't believe there were still 12 pints in the system that I couldn't drain.

12 liter if completly dry. 12 pints would equal 6.8 litres which is fine providing you're talking beer.

When you drain it completly a liter of 11 -12 is needed to fill up.
Just did a coolant change this spring, I needed 12 liters.

Be careful of this - I bought a thermostat from CAF and it had a much smaller diameter valve in it that the one that it was to replace...

I used a smaller one and had no problems at all, it's a bit of a myth the large bore valve is needed IMO

Cool - OK - well it was just a heads up. I used the smaller one for a bit and then swapped it when ny "big bore" one turned up. biggrin

How do you drain the system? I seem to have a blockage. No idea how to access the pump
