Hi,
Can anyone offer any advice on choice of brake pads for my Chim 400 please.
I currently have Forodo pads on grooved and vented front and rear discs. The car squeals like a bus in slow traffic (very embarrassing)! Admittedly there is a small lip on the outer disc which I am goign to grind off but should I stick with the Forodo pads or change? I don't do any track days. Also if someone can suggest a cheap supplier.
Thanks
R

running mintex 1144 pads all round on grooved and drilled discs, good intermediate pads, termed as fast road, good bite from cold and no squeel, good improvement over standard oe pads(in my opinion),purchased from "rally design" (in kent) tel: 01227 792792
just my opinion/findings on these,im sure others may have other suggestions that may be better !

have you looked at the faces of the pads? could be that they have glazed over.
rub the pad surface on a sanding block or a nice smooth flat piece of concrete works a treat for me.

Thanks for the suggestion. Those Mintex pads are very reasonable from Rally design - £64.86 inc. postage.
Do you know what the orignal calpiers were from? I think I remember my mechanic telling me that they were cosworth? Its unfortunate that I am in the middle of moving house and my steve heath bible is packed away in boxes.
So anyone in the manchester are will see another blue chim on your roads over the next couple of weeks.

I'm running Green Stuff pads on grooved discs on the front, plenty of stopping power and no odd noises smile

I hear and read some good things (also price wise) about EBC pads, esspecially when you do also track-days occasionally...

TVR is not so heavy so I guess a yellow is fine?

my car (without me but with and 3/4 tank) weights 1390kg and I use DS3000 they are very good also on track (standard callipers etc) but they do squeal but not much...and they do dust a bit but all in reasonneble amounts (its way off RC6 so to speak)

but the next time I want to try those relative new Blue stuff NDX, they look like a real nice all rounder, they even are aloud on the street biggrin
and a good bite from cold.
