During the summer my stepper motor fell apart, in an act of desperation I bought one that filled the hole, was cheap and available late on a Saturday afternoon.
As the weather is getting slightly cooler the cold starting is not going so well ( car is a daily driver) I want to replace the stepper to the right one.

Prices I've seen range from £30 - £150, I know the E0121 Tvr part is also the Lucas 73312 and/or ERR5199.
I'm wary of the comments of cheap Chinese versions, so where is the best (read as cheapest) place to get a originalone from?

Or are there suitable alternatives to be had that are from a reputable manufacturers?

Any thoughts or help is appreciated.

I got one of the cheap ebay ones £16 delivered and its been fine. Been on a few months now. Just make sure the plastic keyways are of the same orientation as when i was looking they differed even though part numbers were the same.

There also appears to be issues with the shaft liength (no or low idle) and air leaks around the motors (erratic idle) on the cheap ones-but its just things to look out for if they dont seem to work- its really suck it and see on the cheap stuff.

I've had several cheap ones they all either didn't work or failed withing a month or so.

Genuine ones can be obtained from Motor Factors or LR/RR dealers but they tend to be even more expensive. Are you 100% sure its the just the stepper as other issues can appear to be the SM?
