percentage increase in torque - SC
Discussion
OK, the basis of power increase with forced induction is loosely double the pressure double the power, so 1 bar of boost (used to be atmospheres in my day) will double the bhp (twice atmospheric pressure). Although of course things are never that simple and there's lots of other other things to take into account so there's losses to contend with. (I know this is simplification at its best but simple is what I'm trying to be).
So typically, when a SC is fitted, and assuming no other modifications undertaken when it is, can we expect the percentage torque increase to be in line with the percentage power increase or, (as I seem to suspect but I don't know why) the torque gains are greater in percentage terms than the power gains. Oh, and if it makes any difference it's a 10.5:1 CR and a fairly lairy cam (somewhere between a Stealth and a 404)
I hope that makes sense to someone

I think we should have a dyno day where the big boys meet, that said I think I will be
to yours , hope fully the hog roast grill will be still be in place
, just shoving a new clutch into mine at the mo
I will be up for that almost stripped my new engine down now for machining, gotta get a move on with it

Hog roast is being glassed back in sorry...

Neal did you get over your overheating issues then? Or are you not putting turbos on the new build?
It did run hotter when I had the smaller rad in there, put back to standard wih the uprated spal fans and all fine. New build will have turbos but im having a different rad again...I want it to look standard on the outside

Hi rich, yes it does make sense, however you will allways gain a higher percentage in torque than bhp, the reason for this is the cylinder has more time to fill the lower the rpm, also as the revs rise you get more and more pumping losses, (exhaust gasses trying to get out)
