First nice day and what happens? Bloody throttle cable breaks!

Anyone any idea what car they are off or is it a specialist TVR ?

Cheers!

Clever Trevor has them. I keep one as a spare. If it broke at the throttle pedal end nipple and have enough long end, use an electrical screw connector to connect to the pedal. Does the work of the nipple.

I used a pushbike inner repair cable from Halfords....£2.95 or so. Works just fine.

Bill, fairly certain it's a TVR special given the connections at either end and the adjustment nuts.
I bought one from Clever Trevor 6 months ago and after reading accounts of how to fit this got the tool box out.

It's not a quick job. Small hands and body would help but as I have neither access in the football is a challenge. Took me about 4 hours.

I would strongly recommend getting the 'real deal' from Clever Trevor or other specialist TVR supplier .
I had mine repaired a couple of times road-side with a new cable up the original sleeve.
It worked fine, but it never lasted long (maybe a year).

Finally got around to having it replaced properly, and still going strong. It's already outlasted the two fixes combined.

When adjusting the new cable, just make sure that when the pedal's to the metal, the cable's not tight as a guitar string! Keep a little bit of slack in it.

It's always worth keeping a bicycle brake cable and an electrical connector block in the boot as a spare.
