A few years' ago, wrongly or rightly, the dash in my TVR was changed from the original wooden fascia (as it had split) to an aluminium one. I might wish to replace the dash back to the wooden one (I actually prefer it!) - does anyone know where I could get a new wooden dash made or repair the old one? It is a TVR Chimaera 4.5 year 2000 (with the new phared lights)?

Sure I saw a bloke selling them on PH (classifieds -> Parts & Plates -> TVR Parts?
The were fairly cheap if I remember, but he required your old one?

Seems to have disappeared.

I had heard that the old one is often required to make a template

How you wish it ...with new basis-plate from stainless steel ? which style of wood veener or other veener
for example stone, lether, carbon and so on. How strong the veerner 0,8 - 1,0 - 1,2mm. By wood you want
a special tint and with how many layer varnish (uv stable like by boats) glossy or mat ?

The original was a walnut veneer about 1mm, with a gloss finish

The ones that James sells (TVR-MADS) are very good quality and fit perfectly.

yep it was 1,0mm gloss finished on steel plate which mostly now rusty. But if not now when would be the moment to get this dashboard design what you wish ??!!

For example now with a wood steering wheel which mostly are tint in mahagony would be the perfect moment to tint
the walnut wood veener with a mahagony glaze....this loos like nice.

Not of the rod...let´s make it for you

It is not so easy how it´s looks like. Mostly you get it in small parts and has to put toghter like a mosaic, to tape it over clean and flat dashplate, transitions grinding, and in 5 to 7 layer to set the varnish and between all
layers to polish. It´s need some days (weeks)to be ready and we hope nice.

But if you have luck you can find in as one pices. But that this will have a nice structur/surface is not shure.

Can you PM me with a price for both parts? I did look on the website but couldn't see anything (maybe looking in wrong place!)

Hi Mark - Yeah, I'm just not that bright at marketing myself. £240 for dash and radio panel inc UK postage. (Whopping extra £40 for overseas postage.)

Thanks - do you have any pictures of them? Also do you require the old ones in return?

Hi Mark - looking at your profile I think I would need your old one. I have in stock dashes for Chims built after Oct 96. I don't have any photos, as they tend to look different on different PC monitors. I usually attend the bigger TVR functions so can bring along one to show, or the samples of wood we can do.
