Headlamp Smashed
Discussion
Hello all,
A stone lept off the tyre of a passing lorry, today and made its trajectory to my off side headlamp on my Chimaera. Luckily it wasnt my screen. It was a fairly large item more of a rock than stone.
Is it this part I need?
Valeo Part No. 984191.
Or if anyone has a spare one, after a front end upgrade I can Paypal/Post/Cheque etc a donation for one.
Many thanks in advance.

The glass lense can be bought separately and was a BOSCH part on mine. However it is not normally stocked in UK (other than at TVR dealers). I believe that it is normally fitted to some continental lorry?
The glass lense should come with a rubber seal and only costs about £15.00, but you will have to pay a delivery charge on top (£10+) as BOSCH parts dealers will have to order from Germany and it takes 2/3 days to arrive.
When you buy the lense from TVR dealers the factory lists the lense and the seal as separate part numbers. However the seal seems to be permanently out of stock?
The lense if bonded into place using a mastic adhesive and is tricky to align correctly. If you are going to do the job yourself then I can give you a few tips having done my own recently. Email me for more info on this if needed.
Justin - I've just checked your profile and realised that you are local to me. Email me and I will give you my contact numbers.

Peter Hi,
Yes I am in Kettering, Northants.
I tracked the last topic when you broke yours and used the Bosch Part Number:
Part No. 1305 604 027
It is a truck part for sure a SCANIA AT58

I have used the bible so far and unbolted one of the 10mm retaining nuts the other sheared off, so that was nice!
Is the cowling fixed at the top somehow mine seems to be stuck firm, like its bolted there too, or is this the bonding agent?
While the grille is out I have ordered the clear indicators for the front, I have changed the "fried egg" type side repeaters already.

At the top mine were just stuck with a load of sealant - so it was a case of carefully peel off and then restick after. The actual lenses are again just stuck in place - remember to re attach in same orientation as removed.
Boy do they like this Sikaflex stuff!.

I only paid a tenner from TVR
I think I still have a spare if anyone wants it
Incorrigible, I would gladly take it off your hands, I've been looking at my cracked lens now for far too long...If you still have it, give me a shout and I'll cover your costs + a beer !
