Ok, so I know I need to do some clean-up underneath, Elbow grease and POR 15 on chassis bits, I also want to clean and re-coat the inside wheel arches as well as the front underneath black bit (which is scratched thanks to parking curbs and my bad judgement). The only thing I can find that looks suitable is something called Stone Guard Paint. Anyone used it, anything better?

i.e.

Very thankful for any suggestions

I'm contemplating the same job.

Whilst looking at por 15 & I noticed that they also do a black rubberised under paint.

Not sure what the finish is like but might do the trick and "possibly" provide some sound deadening from tyre noise..

Hmm... Looks perfect for wheel arches, wonder if it's also good for the front and back lower bits

Thanks!

Stokes paints in sheffield. High build zinc phosphate primer in matt black, IP 004. Perfect match for under the bonnet and wheelarch. Easy to use and covers well. Simply brush no need to spray.
A couple of years since i purchased some but approx £20 for 5ltrs which is enough to do about 4 cars!

Thanks TJC, I'll check it out, by the way, is that new heat shield you have? Where did you get that? I've seen adhesive backed heat shield but you'd need to create a hem along the edges, I haven't seen pre-made shields for sale yet. I wanted to replace mine when my engine was out but it didn't get done... so putting it on while the engine is in situ must be difficult...

Anyway, thanks again
