Hi All

Bought my first TVR 3 weeks ago a Mica Blue Chimaera. It's a 1993 with 95000 mile under the belt but just had body off rebuild. I wanted to get a few things sorted such as as top end rebuild before posting here but I have experienced a problem I'm hoping you can help with. The car(called it Merlin!)has a new Two Stage Cooling system so no problems with over heating. But, having completed my first 1000 miles of pure enjoyment the fans continue to stay on after I turn of ignition. Dials show temperature at 70 so lost as what to do frown

Any advice would be very much appreciated and yes I have been all through my Steve Heath Bible!

Regards
Tony

I have a two stage modwise kit, The fans go off with the ignition,

But, they also do a version that allows the fans to run (a cycle) after the ign is off, I guess it uses a latching circuit.

Maybe you have that one installed.

The answer to your next question is ..... I have no idea how to tell or what to look for in the differences.

Google modwise 2 stage, it should throw up the link, and give them a call.

Hope that helps.

Edited to add photo of mine in place

I assume they do go off! If you have a cable going from the kit to the starter motor then it is the posh one.

Hi Dave

I think so but was holding off a few days just to be sure before thanking you for your help.

I set both dials to 0 then reset them at 70 and 80. Fans now run-on a cycle for 8 minutes after a good run!

The heater is more productive now too. Maybe a side affect?

Anyway, great of you to help out and also for taking my call. Great customer service.

Best
V8 Tony

Damn, fans sticking on again. Not all the time but intermittently staying on after engine switch off. Having to remove fuse to stop dual fans. Might ditch whole dual fans system and go back to factory setup
