I'll stick my name down for serious interest. Of course this depends on delivered cost, the look of the finished item, how it locks on etc. I can't even drive mine until early next year so I'd be looking for it to be ready for next autumn. I do love the look of it though, so if a decent solution can be arrived at then I'd love one for winter driving.

As an aside, have a look at the Tuscan in my profile. The Tuscan challenge car is obviously an open top car by nature and mine has a non-standard roof on it. To fix it on, there are around 5 slots in the top of the windscreen, with 5 male steel tabs glassed into the roof leading edge, with a rubber seal along the edge as well. The roof is therefore slotted into the top of the windscreen, and then held down at the back using 7 DZUS clips around the base of the roof - these lock it onto the body nice and tightly. A seal could be put along the base of the roof pretty easily. I'm not saying the same system should be used on a road car - for a start it can be removed by a potential theif in about 30 seconds (an advantage for racing). Is is a very solid way of fixing it on though and works well so perhaps this idea could be modified to suit..

Again I please to excuse my bad english and hope that we will understand each other well.

We start this idea by the neighboring topic "wide arches". Therefore I bring some posts here
from there.

I want a hardtop!! Sign me up.

When I saw these pictures in an earlier topic, these was my insperation. But I believe that our colleague from malasya was more looking for race condition as in road traffic use. The rear end to closed with tape is not a real good option so to stabilize the rear window too. To glue these parts is ruled out by itself if you want use it like
a hard top. I dont find these topic more but I remeber so that the price was about over 2K-GBP in race construction fob malaysia ?!

Never mind the malaysia colleague show a forceful synergy effect in design between chimi and cerb. Now it´s time
to make these ready.

Gregor

well spotted, not thought of that before.

indeed it has to change at some points, it needs also a bar under the rear window for putting a perspex? rear-windscreen and give the roof more rigidi and also
strong mounting points to close the rear-end to the Chimaera body.

---

For a good result, I need your thoughts, wishes and ideas too. Please write this here and if necessary we will discuss them together to come to a really good and nice hard top.

Regards

Gregor

I'd be interested as well, with the same proviso's as Nick - ie. cost, necessary modifications to fit, etc - gotta be a good solution, but looks fabulous in those pics... smile

It does give the car a whole new look, cost sensitive but I'm in. Also, storage trolley's, I'd be willing to look at making 10 (or as many as rqd) at a very reasonable cost if anyone was interested.

In first step I will write a concept of the "hard top" specification. Then we discuss this concept as a whole until we have agreed the content.

As secound step you renames your personal wishes, like paint - no paint - color -
delivery + transport - interior design -

Than I will calculate the price and timetable and tell you these incl. the conditions.

You are agree with this procedure ?

Gregor
