My rear lights are very dim - I replaced all the old bulbs and I suspect its the dodgy earth problem.
Where do the rear lights run to earth or should I just replace with fresh ones to a suitable ground?
Early pre serp version for reference
cheers Steve

Run a temporary earth cable direct back to battery to prove/dis-prove earth problem?

Check for voltage drop on the feed to the lights it could be that or a bad earth..

It's also worth checking if you have anything else out.

For example I currently have a blown o/s front sidelight bulb, this simple fault has a knock on effect.

Firstly the n/s tail light is dim, or perhaps I should say the o/s one is overly bright.

Secondly with the headlights off the brake lights partially earth through the nearside headlight circuit bringing that headlight on.

Finally the light in the dashboard mounted clock has become very dim.

These issues seemed to coincide with the the sidelight bulb failure, so I strongly suspect all this strangeness will disappear when I replace that solitary & seemingly innocent bulb.

I know fibreglass cars are notoriously sensitive to earthing issues, but I'm pretty sure what compounds the problems is the way our cars are wired.

From what I've seen TVR wiring fails to follow any kind of best practice known to all formerly trained auto electricians.
