Hi, all does anyone know the spec of the tvr 4.6(450) engine.

Im trying to put something together to drop in my chim and so far I've got hold of a block, crank, rods, pistons and also a pair of heads all range rover 4.6 bits

Its probably going to go together stock, with just a decent cam in there for starters. although I might run the dremel round the ports just to tidy them up a little.

is there anything else easy worth doing. are double valve springs worth the bother on an otherwise std head?

Im also not quite sure what front cover to use. I've got the gems front cover and a alloy sump to suit, but unsure if alternator and pas pump will line up. I would just swap to an intermediate front cover but they seem pricey ( more than ive spent so far on everything else !!!)

Im half tempted to go gems ecu wise ( i dont have my original 14cux either) mark adams can weave his magic on the ecu to make it play but getting a flywheel sorted could be pricey...

any thoughts.

is there a difference in compression in the rangy (9.35:1) and the tvr spec, if there is how do you up the compression ?

is it worth sourcing some 4ltr pistons as i believe they have a higher deck height giving higher comp. are they a straight swap?

do any of the wilder / tvr spec cams ( this is for a road car) need the pistons pocketing for the valves ?

Cheers
