Strange electrical issues
Discussion
Took my Chimaera out for an 80 mile drive last Monday, no issues. Car lives outside and is an un-modified Chimaera 400, 1999 vintage.
Took it out again on Friday, no speedo, and I noticed that the little red light for the immobiliser wasn't working.
Sunday i discovered that i also had no headlights, side lights or panel lights.
Today i discovered I had no electric windows
As I had the roof off on Friday, and only went two miles on Sunday, it is safe to assume that all the failures have happened at the same time.
Electric mirrors, wipers, indicators, hazard lights, radio, fan (including the panel light behind it) all work fine.
Any thoughts as to what has happened? Are all these things on one relay, perhaps?

Earthing points. Fuses. Outside damp weather.
Thanks for this - I was coming to a similar conclusion, especially when, driving along today, I realised that I have lost everything that is NOT wired through the ignition, and have not lost anything that IS wired through the ignition.I think I possibly also have two non-related issues
- the speedo failure (and odometer) may be sender related, as I did have this problem in the summer, but had the sender unit replaced. It may have gone again.
- the loss of the immobiliser LED on the dash may just be a coincidence. The immobiliser itself is still working. I cannot swear that the LED failed at the same time as the speedo, I just noticed it on the same day.
Both could be mouse related - I have furry friends in the car, in the heater system and somewhere around the gearbox (gear lever gaiter chewed to bits). They could have chewed any of the wiring.
I didn't mention the mouse problem to start with as I thought the electrical issues were more likely to be separate, given how many things have gone wrong at once, and didn't want to distract everyone with furry jokes.
I will dig out the Steve Heath doorstop this evening and have a good read about matters electrical and relay/fuse/earth related.
Although I can't verify myself, I recall reading (on here somewhere) there's a earthing point under the centre consul so it may be that is where the local point is?
Might be worth taking the dash top of and with an earth fly lead off the battery trying it on a few of the related points to see if that's where the fault lies.

Peter told me of your woes, try the other main fuse near the battery
Thanks, he just called me this morning, and it makes sense.....it HAS to be something near the battery that is losing all the power to the non-ignition side of things. I will check out that fuse tomorrow (be dark by the time I am home tonight) and replace it with a midi fuse, as i had to do with the 100 amp one. Any idea what rating it is? If not, I do have the bible at home
