I have a 99 Chimaera 4.0. I think I may have blown the other 100 amp fuse, ie the one in the footwell, not the one that is strapped under the chassis drivers side that causes the car to die when blown.

I have lost the things that are not wired via the ignition, ie lights, windows, speedo etc. I have been told I should have this extra strip fuse down in the passenger footwell, but I cannot see it. Could anyone please post a photo of where it is, or describe its location precisely?

Sorry, I have no idea either.
But I always carry a spare smile
Is it maybe (officially) an 80 amp fuse?

On our Griff there is one sat above the battery box - looks identical to the link I've posted earlier.

Thanks Podie. I have already replaced the one in your link. It's the other one that I think is blown, the one in the footwell. I expected it to look like the under-chassis one, but I cannot see it and don't know which bit of wiring it is fitted into. Any clues?

You say "above the battery box", but do you mean in the knitting that is attached to the ECU, or as part of the fuse and relay array?

Ours is separate to the fuse/relay mess... but that is likely to have been tidied up by the specialist we use.

On the Chimaera I had it was sat behind the battery initially...

Ie in front of it. more to the front of the car, so to the far side of the battery as you lie upside down in the footwell and glare at the battery?

Brilliant.....but that suggests that, if the fuse is blown, I should have lost everything that links to the main fuse board

Correct - it was further forward in the vehicle, i.e. closer to the engine.

There should be 2 Brown cables in tandem coming from the battery + post direct to the fuse holder & being the helpful kind of chap I am wink + I was bored anyway rolleyes .......
.. I was under the impression that the later cars i.e Serp 94ish on had these fitted scratchchin I pulled this fuse holder out for the pics but it normally sits behind the battery and completely out of sight boxedin maybe this is why you cannot locate it frown I am not certain this is your problem as I have never removed the fuse to see what effect idea

This is it. Pic is of a Griff battery box but may help you recognize the fuse holder.

Went out, bought a torch, found the fuse holder, fuse fine. It's 80 amp, by the way.

So now what else could be common to all those things? But I know from reading the bible that the horn is earthed to the chassis down behind th front bumper. Could the others, lights, elec windows etc, have a common earth? If so, where is it?

By the way, in common with other TVR owners, the horn works fine.

Often when you have a faulty earth it causes interactions between various components, i.e. side lights flash with indicators etc. As your problem is only with non ignition items I would check the multi-plugs behind the dash as each one of these supplies power to several items.

Ok, by torchlight, lying on my side, arms at full stretch, it looked ok. Hopefully tomorrow a batch of midi fuses will arrive from a supplier on the bay of fleas. When they do I will replace the strip fuse and see.

Next I will check all the relays in the footwell that are on the ECU loom - per the bible, all the ones on the fuse board AR single specific items.

Then it's dash top off and see what is what, as per hedgehopper's post.

Pray for sunshine! Car is outside.

Hasn't stopped raining. I will tackle it first thing tomorrow.
