Hi - long time member, so should really know the answer but I'm locked out with a very dead battery. I had thought for some time that the accumate wasn't doing it's job in topping up the battery as it never seemed to go to the green light position - but stupidly I didn't get it sorted. Net result is that I have a completely flat battery. I need to get the AA out to get it started before heading off to get a new 072 battery, but first I need to get into the car.
I would call the garage I take the car to but as many will know Dulfords are no more.
I know it's sensitive info so rather than responding on the thread could some kind soul mail me the secret access. I know boot to cabin access (though never tried it) but it's access to boot I need.

Many thanks
Peter

Alternatively, get a little booster pack and use that to power the ignition and pop the boot using the button.

Hi - If it is as you say, then I'm still no further forward. The item is stuck on very securely, so I'd be likely to damage paintwork etc if I went through your suggested route. Anyone else, could you mail me at pwr.hudd@btinternet.com

Thanks
Peter

It's not that sensitive, you still need the key. It's no different to any normal car, except the keyhole is hidden wink

THe plate will be held on by two screws and stuck around the surround with some double sided foamy type stuff. Unlikely to damage paintwork, mine just tore the foamy stuff.

There are no visible screws BTW - its a stick on plate so will just try and prise off around edges

Thanks for your help Chris -

Ok - so managed to get the plate off from the two adhesive strips - but no keyhole visible - just blank painted fibreglass. No screws or other access visible. It's a 99 car - if that makes any difference.

Any thoughts - will post a pic if I can get photos to upload from camera

Thanks
Peter

Thanks Guys - PH rides to the rescue again.

I'm now in - not through the plate route (still no keyhole visible) - but a long umbrella on a convertible did the trick

Off to call the AA now to crank up the battery.

Thanks again.

Will delete post in a couple of minutes so you can note my thanks. If not gone in a while can a mod please close the thread.

No worries mate, I see yours is a later model than mine. Mine has the backlit numberplate, so there's a huge recess behind it where the bulbs sit and the keyhole is. I've probably led you down the path of ripping your plate of for no valid reason, sorry about that!!

There should be small hole is in the middle under the top tape. It's not a key hole. Will just take a thin electrical screw driver to yank the trigger. I carry one velcroed outside.................in a secret place. Works on my 1999.
