Okay, so one connects to the distributor, but where does the other end go?

I appear to missing mine and there is an unplugged tube spout on top of the plenum.

OKay, thanks for the info.

I don't have the pipe at all, so I was just going to get some normal rubber piping. Car seems to run okay without it You think its worth getting the proper pipe?

So does anyone know what the vacuum advance pipe does? If the engine can run without it, is it the appendix of the Rover V8? ;-) How is the engine affected running without?

We took ours off last week after seeing another thread about rough running around 2000 rpm. Did exactly as told on the thread and it`s running lovely

Me too - it cured my eratic running under 2000 rpm

I had already cleaned stepper motor and changed snb802 temp sensor which didn't make much difference

Another worry gone :-)
